Virtual Property Expert

Today I was officially recognised as the virtual property expert.  Does this mean that I am the only virtual property expert in Australia?  The answer to that is of course not.  With that said, I do back myself to be one of the top 5 experts with regard to domain names in Australia and in particular .au domain names and how they are surging into the ccTLD ranks as a massive contender.  I back myself as one of the top 5 experts in SEO as well through the vast knowledge of domain names being the first and foremost factor in search engine optimisation as well as other key factors that I expand my learning on constantly.  I would like to thank Mr. Mark Tonelli for recognising me and giving me a go as the virtual property expert on Real Estate News.  I hope that the year of 2012 will be a game changer for me and my new brand of Virtual Property Expert and how my expertise and knowledge can educate people across Australia in the .au domain name space.

I still remain CEO of Pacific Octane Pty Ltd, but I am no longer running the business and only remain a director.  My primary focus is on Get Outdoors Media, a massive project in the US in the hunting, fishing and boating vertical markets for deals websites and expanding my client base here in Australia with regard to consulting, brokering and investing in joint ventures.

I can announce that I have 2 MASSIVE announcements coming the first week of December.  When I say that 2012 is going to be a game changer, I seriously mean a GAME CHANGER!  I am pretty much an unknown within the domainer community as I do not see myself as a domainer, but with my software near completion and 2 other MASSIVE projects coming online- I’d like to extend a hello to anybody meeting me for the first time.

Interview on .au domain names coming soon on Real Estate News on Sky Business Channel

I’ve been extremely hard at work since the restructuring of Pacific Octane and my primary focus has been on the US market with a project called Get Outdoors Media as well as looking at my options here in the .au market.  I was fortunate enough a couple of years ago to meet an innovative and passionate journalist that was a pioneer in delivering a fresh information and sales platform to the real estate market.  Mark Tonelli, owner and producer of Real Estate News on Sky Business Channel, is extremely passionate about delivering a story for informational purposes properly.  He does whatever it takes to assure the story is a story in itself and takes the viewer on a journey from beginning to end.

When I met Mark back a couple of years ago, I told him what Pacific Octane did and what my expertise was in regard to domain names and the online space.  He found it very interesting and knew that there was a parallel to the real estate market, but not his real estate market of savvy investors that are the core of his show’s demographics.  A short while after the MirandaKerr.com.au story broke out and the super journo’s came out of the wood work to do some intensive and professional *sarcasm* investigating to report it, a domain name sold in auction on NetFleet.com.au that would change the landscape of the .au space and propel it into the mainstream media.  The domain name that got more traction in the mainstream media than hardware.com.au, which was purchased by Woolworths, was when the switched on property guru from the Central Coast of NSW bought investmentproperty.com.au for a cool $125k.

Mark’s first question was “Did you know that it would sell that high and do you think it’s worth the money?”  My reply was “No, I had it pegged to sell for up to $60k or possibly $70k and I felt that the domain name was worth $150k to an end user.  In my opinion, the guy that purchased it is super switched on and now has a platform for personal use to corner the market on his competitors as well as possibly create a stage for State to State dominance of other real estate investors.”

After a 2 hour meeting, Mark has invited me on to do an interview on Real Estate News as the Virtual Property Expert.  I am extremely grateful and excited to get to share my knowledge on a platform such as Real Estate News on Sky Business Channel and hopefully, with fingers and toes crossed, the show gets enough feedback from his viewers to invite me on again.  I have a feeling that once property investors see the returns that one can equate to a block of land, such as what I can validate by my domain name sale of sydneyfinancialplanning.com.au which I registered for $22.10 and sold for $3,300.00, making it a 14,832% roi or equate to an investment property, such as what I can validate by my domain name sale of taxcalculator.com.au, which I bought in an after market auction for $1,500 and sold for $13,200 making a roi of 780%, that they’ll be emailing for some questions to be answered.

To know that I am going to be in the company of Sam White, CEO of Ray White and Loan Market, is a pretty nice feeling.

I am launching a new brand on VirtualPropertyExpert.com.au in anticipation of this interview and hopefully the success in which it will bring for the .au domain name industry as a whole and in particular, for me to possibly even have a permanent place on Real Estate News on the Sky Business Channel as the Virtual Property Expert.

I will have more information on the date that the show will air soon.

Business Jobs funny mock up video on how to sell a domain name

This is a complete mock of something that has actually happened to me before and yes, the conversation lasted about 10 or 15 minutes and I sold the domain name during the initial phone call.  I am sharing this to educate some people that own domain names, and especially .au domain names, that when they receive an enquiry on it, the MOST IMPORTANT thing to remember is to ALWAYS treat EVERY SINGLE enquiry as it is from Google or Facebook or at least an ASX listed company.  If you believe everything that the caller or the person emailing you tells you, then you’re a sucker and you’re going to lose money.  KNOW your asset.  KNOW the vertical market.  KNOW the value of it.
